Sumukha masque is a complete skin-nutrition for oily, acne-prone, blemished, sensitive & dull skin. The properties of its natural ingredients reveal a lightened & clear complexion with regular use. Sumukha cools, cleans, lightens & brightens the complexion. The minerals in this mask help maintain skin pH balance, absorb excess oil & deep-lying skin impurities. The rich vitamin C content of Sumukha lightens complexion & gives a mild bleached effect with regular use.

How it Works

Sandalwood protects from breakouts due to coagulation properties. Almonds are full of anti-oxidants & help heal skin damaged by UV radiation. Turmeric is anti-bacterial & healing in nature. It also lightens the complexion. Licorice is a strong skin-lightening agent & works against blemishes effectively. Vetiver is cooling & helps deal with sun-burnt skin. Amla due to its vitamin C content helps lighten & brighten the skin. Rice lends a porcelain complexion, reduces pores & clears the complexion. Clay binds with heavy metal toxins & helps the skin tissues to heal.

HOW TO USE

Mix a teaspoon of powder with water (or milk for best results) and make a paste. Apply it on the face and allow it to rest for 10 minutes. Massage gently in upward circular motion & wash off with lukewarm water. Adding coconut oil or sesame oil to the paste will provide extra skin nutrition & illuminate the skin.

HISTORY

Sacred botanicals were an important part of holy rituals performed by Goddesses in Mythological times. Sumukha’s ingredients have their history rooted in Lord Shiva’s times. In ancient Indian Mythology it is believed that Goddess Parvati created Lord Ganesha by scrubbing her skin with sandalwood paste & scrapping off the dead skin. She mixed the slouched-off dead skin with clay & molded it into a beautiful doll into which she breathed life.

Sandalwood paste is believed to protect the ‘Agna Chakra’ & cool the mind. In modern India, sandalwood paste is frequently used as ‘Tilaka’ during traditional prayers. In South India, women welcome guests by applying this paste on guests’ forehead. Since time immemorial, Sumukha ingredients are actively used to prepare Ayurvedic ‘Lepas’ to beautify & detoxify the skin.
